Song Meaning of Flowers by Miley Cyrus, and what it is about

Miley Cyrus, Gregory Hein, and Michael Pollack wrote the song Flowers in January 2022 at Sunset Sound Recorders in Hollywood, California.

Pollack said: "We started with the chorus and, if I remember correctly, the lyric, melody, and progression started to form simultaneously. It's one of those 'circle of fifths's songs where the melody informs the progression and vice versa. It practically wrote itself."

Following its debut, "Flowers" was allegedly intended to be a reaction song for Cyrus's ex-husband Liam Hemsworth, according to a number of newspapers. They live in Malibu, California, and the song was released on Hemsworth's birthday.

The song was a huge commercial success, breaking numerous records, and it became Cyrus's most popular single. In both its first and second weeks, it surpassed the previous record for Spotify's most streamed song in a week. It also did it in 112 days, making it the fastest song in Spotify history to reach one billion streams.

It debuted at the top of the Billboard Global 200 chart and peaked at number one in 38 nations, including the US and the UK.
